trunk or treat

we had a good time at "trunk or treat". it was a bit odd to be able to have the chili cook off and all activities outside and not be cold at all. it was odd to eat hot chili on a warm evening. welcome to arizona...alice wanted to be snow white and we opted for a hippie couple (thanks to chad and adriana for the costumes). alice especially loved the "cake walk". when she discovered if you landed on the right number and got a cupcake she was there all night long, until we told her she could go from trunk to trunk and collect candy, then she was there...all night long. she is her mothers daughter.

the fires

not my parents home, but their neighbor down below.

it is so crazy what is going on... my parents home did survive the fire and we are thankful for that but so sad for all those who lost their homes. my parents will be housing a family from their ward. i believe four families lost their homes from their ward. A family from their ward was in danger and after the father took his wife and children to safety he went back and quickly cut all the trees and shrubs away and then went in the middle of the street and got on his knees to pray. the fireman came and told him he had to leave and he said that he was not done praying, they waited for him to finish and then escorted him out...his home was saved.

alice informed me tonight that prince philip is here and she is fixing him dinner...i said how nice and then she said "he's mine". so... i suppose she thought i was going to try and take her man.

she was SO HAPPY to meet cinderella, it was the hightlight.


alice and i snuck over to california to visit my parents while jeff had to go to training for work. i LOVE disney and we went for the day. just my me, my mother and alice. alice wore her "sparkling cinderella dress" and she was treated just like she was cinderella and she LOVED it. she truly believes she is a princess. i know i don't help the situation...

well, i am 36...wow 36...i am speechless. my family was here to celebrate with me...most of my family. as you can see little alice needs to take smiling lessons. we just got back from swimming so maybe she was too tired, who knows. most likely she was upset that the presents weren't for her and we weren't singing to her. she is her mother's daughter.

book club

book club was so fun last night. loved talking to everyone about their thoughts on harry potter...there are some passionate women out there about harry. LOVE IT. and the food was fabulous especially the chocolate frogs. thanks girls.
