we are so grateful to the pobst family for letting us stay in their basement... they have been so kind to us!! alice has especially enjoyed it, she was allowed to decorate the tree, not only was she allowed to put up ornaments but the very special ones as well (breakable ones). she enjoyed climbing up and down the ladder to trim the tree.

alice had a birthday party with cousins, jeff had to hold nash to get all the kids in the picture.  happy birthday to him to, alice and him have the same birthday. sorry your head was cut off.  oops

she loves barbie diamond castle and one of her gifts was the actual barbie. she was so happy, BUT vance was even happier. 

 he parachuted in and cut alice off at the passs ( little reference to our favorite comedian) and took barbie alexa away.

  he had her the rest of the night and would not give it up.  ( his poor dad tried to have indiana jones shoot barbie, but vance still wanted the barbie ) and he was not happy when we tried to take it away.

alice's 1st halloween

like, we totally had, like an awesome weekend!!

on friday night we went to an 80's murder mystery party, thanks to summer and phil for a great party. we did not bring a camera so go here and here for some great pictures of the party.  my cousin, danielle, did my hair and make up for the party. A BIG THANK YOU.  i look better in 2008 dressing up like the 80's than i actually did in the 80's. 

 

then saturday night we had our ward fall festival.  (aka halloween party).  it was so fun, good food, and lots of activities for the kiddos, including  a horse and a haunted house...here our some pictures.  i was stuck doing my own hair and makeup.  um, yeah, i can't do make up or hair very well.

i had to put in the two pictures because one is good of nash and one is good of jeff alice is the same and, well, i am hot in both... what is up with alice, WHO KNOWS. she was very happy to be there.

i lied...

to alice. i sorta feel guilty about it, but i don't want her to think her momma can't make crafty things. yesterday was super saturday and i signed up for a few projects. one of which was this cute tote.

i made the halloween tote, i mean i signed up for the halloween tote. amy, who creates these adorable purses, asked me if i just wanted the sample so i didn't have to make one. i might have mentioned to her before that i would buy that one instead of making one. ANYWAY... i gave the purse to alice tonight and here was the conversation

me: "alice, this will be you trick or treat bag for halloween"

alice: "no mom it will be my church bag to carry my scriptures."

pause

alice: " did you make this purse mom?"

long pause

me: "yes?" ( i was a little hesitant)

alice: "or did you buy it?"

me: "no, i made it."

alice LOVES school. she is doing a mexican hat dance, all the kids did the dance three or four times for the parents, and had so much fun dancing.

i know i am not the greatest photographer, and i could try and do alice's hair before preschool, and i probably should learn to photoshop so i can give nash some clear skin. a few of my weaknesses, but here are some photos.

jeff taught alice how to play chess... she won the first two games.

little man nash getting his first bath... we all love him so much, he has brought a lot of smiles to all our faces. we all can't stop staring at him. he is sleeping a lot better DURING THE DAY. but i am getting used to it.

okay, he is here and well, he has been here for one week. for those of my dearest friends to whom i have failed to contact to let you know. please forgive me. i have had my daily crying spells, mainly when i crawl into bed knowing i have a LONG night ahead of me. my mother has been here to help which i am SO GRATEFUL for and jeff has been so good to me. alice is loving her baby brother and is so proud to be a big sister now. each day gets better and i look as this little guy and think 1) whos child are you, he doesn't look like either one of us and 2) i didn't know that i could love anyone so much. HE IS PURE JOY. (except for the hours between 11 pm and 6 am, but it is all good when the sun comes up.)

funny things she says

when i told her that mommy has a baby in her tummy she said

"you ate a baby?"

when she said her prayers the other night she prayed that heavenly father would bless her baby sister in her tummy and her baby brother in mommys tummy.

when i asked her when her baby sister is coming to stay with us she said

"my mouth is going to get really big and she will come out." ( she never told me when it was going to happen)

when i told her that i went to the doctor to listen to her baby brother she said

"he can talk?"

when i told her to look at mommys belly and watch her baby brother move she looked straight down my belly button and said

"i can't see him?"

she is a funny girl.

what is wrong with this picture?

jeff seems so much taller than me and we all know that is not the case. i crack up every time i see this picture. not to mention that alice refused to put anything in her hair or even smile. what a little stinker.

this was taken about a year and a half ago. she has got the moves, i love my little alice.




these are heaven sent. i always buy extra to keep all year round. believe it or not i still have some from last year.
