i lied...

to alice. i sorta feel guilty about it, but i don't want her to think her momma can't make crafty things. yesterday was super saturday and i signed up for a few projects. one of which was this cute tote.

i made the halloween tote, i mean i signed up for the halloween tote. amy, who creates these adorable purses, asked me if i just wanted the sample so i didn't have to make one. i might have mentioned to her before that i would buy that one instead of making one. ANYWAY... i gave the purse to alice tonight and here was the conversation

me: "alice, this will be you trick or treat bag for halloween"

alice: "no mom it will be my church bag to carry my scriptures."

pause

alice: " did you make this purse mom?"

long pause

me: "yes?" ( i was a little hesitant)

alice: "or did you buy it?"

me: "no, i made it."

sorry alice

That trumps "running on the Sabbath" for sure!! Better make sure you and Jesus are super tight. :)

some day she'll know you well enough to know that you probably paid someone to make it. until then, just enjoy the fact that she thinks you can do EVERYTHING!

ps- i like your "title" for sarah. she said you guys could be friends.

Deborah --- Pam told me about your side bar that says, "pam's friend, who i hope will be my friend someday" and I was cracking up. I thought it was awesome. I told her I was going to make a post about you called "My #2 Fan", but I don't know if you've been reading my blog long enough to get that joke. She also told me that you lied about making your bag (we were making barrettes tonight at her house) and I thought the story was hilarious, so I had to come and read it for myself. And yes, it IS hilarious!

You LIAR! That is hilarious. We just had souper Saturday too, and I signed up for about 5 projects and have successfully finished, 1 of them and to be honest, it's because my friend did it for me. The rest are sitting in a pile on my dining table.

Well, can you make/BUY me one too. They are really cute.
OOOH, I just realized you lied about buying it too. I know cause I was there and you forgot your wallet. HAAAAAA!
They could probably be considered "white lies" which are NOT that bad.=)

i think it's ok because you went with the intention of making the bag. how does it feel when she says she will put her scriptures in it! it's ok, i lied to ella today too. she yelled at me for throwing a very liberal cartoon book that was free in a box of cereal. i told her her dad did it. i don't think she believed me.

go to this blog below and read it from the first post. it doesn't take that long. you will love it!

A lie is a lie is a lie. Bad Mommy! Now you've damaged YOUR daughter. And you suck at the Seinfeld Scene It game. :-)

That is hilarious! Nothing wrong with a little white lie once in awhile between parent and child! We do it for the greater good! (atleast that's what I tell myself!)
